Disposable Babies

That's right, disposable babies. What is that you ask? Well it is a child outside the womb and a fetus in the womb, regardless it is a beating heart. I get so angry to hear women that have terminated their pregnancies or killed their child after birth. Babies are not disposable, they were created by God.

The recent coverage of the woman in Ocean City has angered me. Four lives lost by her. If she didn't want them she could have given them up for adoption. But no, she was only thinking about herself not the child. She could have allowed that child to live a good life and be loved by adoptive parents. Am I to assume it is easier to know your child was killed at your own hands than to know  they are  well cared for and living a fulfilled life with an adoptive family that loved them enough to come look for them.

Conception is not a mistake. The forming of a fetus and the birth of a child is not a mistake. The act that got you to the point was the mistake. Don't blame and punish the child for your time of fun. Think about the baby and the life he or she could live with their adoptive family. Think about someone other than yourself. What is nine months of discomfort for yourself to a lifetime of love and happiness for the child?

Now I will get off my soapbox and give a praise of thanks.

Thank you to The Lord for  bringing my nephew into the world and to our lives. Thank you to his biological mother for caring enough not to  terminate her pregnancy. Thank you again to his biological mother for putting him up for adoption. Thank you also  to his biological father for putting him up for adoption. Neither of you had to but because of you he is the highlight of our entire family. We may never meet either one of you but our hearts are overwhelmed with thanks on behalf of my entire family especially his parents. His conception was not a mistake because he was meant to be placed with our family. My God does not make mistakes he has a purpose for every beating heart.

With Good Friends, Time Flies

Isn't it great to get together with a friends you have known for years and just talk, reminisce and enjoy the socialization? Time just flies by and the next thing you know it is late at night. Oh I so love that time, Thanks, Jen. Oh yeah thanks Mike too, I know you were tired and went to bed and let the girls be chatty girls.

What About Me?

Last night I decided to take advantage of the nice weather and go to Busch Gardens when I got off work and see Kinetix. We arrived at 8:30 and went to see Emerald Beat first then proceeded to Italy to get my favorite meal there, the cannelloni.

I am a people watcher. I can not help it. I watch what they wear , what they look like and who they are with. Last night I saw at least three couples in which the women were every bit as big as I am with handsome husbands and boyfriends. At that point my people watching thoughts turn to me. What about me ? Why can't I find someone to share my life with? How come those men don't care? The never ending questions.

Lately those questions have been in my head alot. I think I have to be skinny to be worthy of anyone and I know deep down that I am wrong but I still allow these thoughts to permeate my self image. I keep saying I will get out there more and be more outgoing and social when I am skinny. Why should I wait until then? I am worthy of a great husband and a good man will like me for what and who I am not for my outward appearances. I am a Woman of God and strive to be all God wants me to be.

Please Lord, help me to maintain this attitude when my nature is to bring myself down. You know the desires of my heart and I hope to remain confident as you prepare him for me and me for him. I also pray Lord that you will help me to strive to be the healthy ( not skinny) individual I so long to want to be as to be a positive reflection of your love, amen.

SLEEP UPDATE

Just for those of you who laugh at others problems. One of my friends chose this morning to call me at 7:40 AM. He works 6 PM to 6 AM. I was so groggy he said he would call me back later. Go figure this was my one day to sleep. After his call I received a call every hour on the hour until 11. My wish for sleep did not come true. Oh well , Life is short!

I'm BA-ACK!

I am back, just in case you missed me. The week in Atlanta at the conventions was good but I am exhausted. I have been home for three days and just can not seem to get enough sleep. I slept ten hours last night and it still was not restful. I am off tomorrow and hope I can sleep in a little.

The conventions made for some very long days. Usually we have one or two days to play before we come home. This time we didn't. We went straight from the CBA convention to the Atlanta Giftmart convention. Words can not describe the sizeof the Atlanta Giftmart . It was three buildings with approximately 18 floors in each building. Needless to say we only covered about 6 of these floors in two days.

I was thinking why did these conventions make me so tired when it dawned on me that I have been on the go since June 28 when my best friend came into town. Her and I stayed on the go all week between the holiday, shopping, Busch Gardens, Water Country, the Tides Game and so much more. The day she left I went to a wedding and then started driving  down  to Atlanta immediately after the wedding. We stopped at about 1 am that night at a hotel and were on the road again by 9 am. The week was all convention.  Then we started home on Saturday night after the Braves game. Of course even that had to be delayed because of rain, what should have ended at 9 did not end until 11:15 and so our journey home began. We stayed in an uncomfortable motel right outside of Atlanta and began our journey home at 10 am and did not arrive home until 7pm and work started at 10 am the next morning, no break.

So from June 28 to July 15 I have been going like the Energizer battery bunny but I have finally drained it dry. If you have my home or cell #, don't call me before noon tomorrow. REPEAT... If you have my home or cell # , DO NOT CALL BEFORE NOON.

atlanta restroom patrol

I couldn't resist posting this one since it involved a previous post. I was at the Atlanta Gift Mart was using the restroom in which there was a line. Another lady walks in and says, "Is there a line for the restroom?" You know I was thinking , you moron why do you think I an standing here it's not just to hold the walls up so others can use the restroom. I refused to answer, I know it wasn't nice but when the lady in front of me answered I smiled and the lady evidently could not wait and left. I then turned and looked at the lady in front of me and she said, "that was a dumb question and she did not deserve an answer." DUH! No answer was a better witness than what I was thinking.

On another note I have walked and walked and walked all week , so I hope my weight loss stays put this week despite all the good southern food

A night on the town

I went out with a friend to a local country night club. Boy oh boy am I glad that I do not have to rely on getting drunk to have a good time .I can not even tell you about some of the things I saw at this place. Well some would find it normal but from a Christian perspective, oh wow the rapture has to be coming.  I have never been in the drinking environment but will admit I have had a drink or two but it is not my lifestyle and I don't care to waste my money on such things. I am glad the Lord gave me a Christian environment to be raised in with parents who made sure they knew where I was and what I was doing. I, like a lot of people, did my own thing at 21 but learned quick it was not me or what I stood for. But Praise God that he is a forgiving God.

You may ask, why did you go there if it is not your style. I try to be a witness to others in my life and thoughts and that can not always happen in my Christian environment. So when my friend said , lets go , I went. I  hope one day I can share my God and my life with these friends. I do not believe you can do this without going to where they go and do what they do. I did not do anything unchristian like but I showed them I wasn't too good to be there.

The next question, will I go back. I have no plans at this time but will go if asked and hope I can save a life in more than one way through Christ and being the DD.

Update: This friend went with me to my church's 4th of July picnic and had a good time and spent the evening with me at Busch , so she was able to see how to have a good time without the drinking and carrying on.

Dear Lord, Please help to remember to be a witness in all that I do and protect me when I venture out to the places that people need to see and hear about your love and salvation.

Its the best time of the year....Fireworks

Fireworks or boom booms as my nephew says, I love them.

This week is a fireworks marathon.

Last night I went to Busch Gardens and they were great. I kept thinking that every big boom was the finale but they kept going.

Tonight I saw them at the Tides game and they were great too. Good thing they were because it made up for the lousy game the Tides played (1-11). By the way, Resa, I saw your hubby and four of your beautiful kids but not you.

On Wednesday I am going to either Fort Monroe or Yorktown.

Now I need some on tomorrow or Friday, hmmh, if only Stone Mountain, Georgia was closer. They rank as number one in my book combined with their spectacular laser show.
